The Far Side | Special Edition of Lightboxes
The Far Side by Alain Richard expresses the artist’s desire to capture the “other side of the moon” usually invisible from earth. Above all, the goal is to expose and bring to light the hidden and shaded side of the mystical orb normally not appreciated or exposed to public view. He sets out, using images captured by NASA in 1972 * during the Apollo 16’s mission, on which he has worked, choosing to offer a different perspective, casting a luminous new light, on a previously hidden topic. He works the images using various assembling and detailing technics. The work is presented in Lightbox (Duratrans printing and Diasec® collage). This alone speak volumes of the fine craftsmanship and precision studies required to achieve the special and optimal development of a globally valued and symbolic subject. * Public Domain
